Saratoga/Capital District Region

With its mineral baths, effervescent waters, performing arts center, the historic and world-renowned Gideon Putnam Hotel and Conference Center and outstanding golfing facilities, Saratoga Spa State Park is one of New York State's best. The $1.7 million Peerless Pool Complex -- the only pool complex at a state park with a waterslide -- and playground built by Saturn Corporation, Saratoga Spa has added even more to its already beautiful facilities.

Grafton Lakes State Park offers skating, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the winter and hiking, swimming and equestrian trails in the summer. Moreau Lake State Park, at the foot of the Adirondacks, offers rustic tranquility with 148 wooded campsites. Surrounded by mountain ranges and trails sits John Boyd Thacher State Park, which offers unsurpassed panoramas, majestic waterfalls and ancient rock formations. Winter and summer, the 10 parks in this region are filled with outdoor excitement.

The seven state historic sites the within region tell the story of the settlement of the colony of New York and the opening of the western frontier to trade and commerce.
