Discount Programs
State parks' free-entry and reduced-fee programs offer entry to many properties for New Yorkers who want to experience
all that parks and historic sites have to offer.
Golden Pass - Seniors age 62 and older can enjoy free weekday (non-holiday) entry to
the parks simply by presenting their driver's license or non-driver ID.
Empire Passport - Visitors purchasing an Empire Passport receive unlimited day use vehicle
entry all summer and through March of 2009 for just $59. Park visitors can discover miles of beaches, acres of
woodlands, and endless miles of trails…every day if they like, through all of the Empire State's beautiful seasons. The
Passport provides access to most of the 178 state parks, 55 Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) forest
preserve areas, as well as to boat launch sites, arboretums and park preserves. The passport pays for itself in just 8
visits!
