After the incredibly successful 2002 U.S. Open, the national championship returns to Bethpage State Park's Black Course in Farmingdale, N.Y. for 2009. In 2002, Bethpage State Park became the first publicly-owned and -operated facility to host the Open in its 102-year history. A few short months later, the United State Golf Association (USGA) announced that the Open would be returning to the Black in 2009.

Regarded as the largest public golf facility in the world, Bethpage features five courses, the Black, Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. For the 2009 Open, the challenging Black Course will once again provide a national and international stage to highlight premiere golf and New York State's hospitality to tens of thousands of spectators and several hundred million TV viewers worldwide.

For information on purchasing tickets for the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage, please contact the USGA at www.usga.org/tickets. For information on volunteering for the championship, please contact the USGA at https://2009volunteers.usga.org/2009vols/
